Ref: 1603 - SIGMA DIAL - Hecho in Mexico Joskes Strap
The Rolex Oyster is a legendary watch. In November 1927, it began its luxury “sports career” on the wrist of a young secretary, Mercedes Gleitze, who swam across the English Channel in 15 hours and 15 minutes.
It was in 1945 that the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust is revealed publicly. One can easily recognize the watch’s design, especially thanks to its cyclops lens at 3 o’clock. Above all, the Datejust can be identified by its Jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel.
This specific model is a rare reference 1603 with a “SIGMA” Dial and a strong case wich seems unpolished. By the way, the 1603 caseback dont have the usual bevel that we often see on these references. This watch carries a very interesting 6251h Hecho in Mexico Joskes strap.
